Mrs. Linda Ransford

         Grade 4

 

 

 

   Linda Ransford was born in Rochester, NY in 1957. She grew up in a small dairy farming region of upstate New York. She graduated from Victor Central High in 1976. Linda attended Geneseo State University and graduated with a degree in education. After working as a substitute teacher in the area, she received a teaching position in Woodlin, CO.  She headed out west in 1980.

She taught school in a rural district for a year and then moved to Aspen, CO to take a nanny position. She lived in the Roaring Fork Valley for the next year, enjoying life in a ski resort. Linda met Mark Ransford who was attending veterinary school at Colorado State University. They both obtained jobs in Montana, and were married in 1982.

This is Linda's 29th year at the Philipsburg Elementary School. She taught Special Education for the first eight years and has been teaching fourth grade in recent years. The Ransford's have two daughters, Erin, age 23, and Megan, age 21. They have many interests and hobbies, all of them being outdoor activities that are easily enjoyed in the great state of Montana. Erin recently graduated from Washington State University with a major in biology and broad field science. She is a High School Science teacher in Warden, WA. Megan is in nursing school at WSU in Spokane. She will finish in December 2010
